Our committee (David Amot; Rene Bura; Nikki Burke; Rebecca Crosbie; Tanya Eastman; Laurine Kazhila; Patrick Rand) were concerned about the uncertain effectiveness of care offered to residents in retirement homes after reviewing a survey of resident care facilities (93% privately owned of a total of 45 facilities (67% response rate = 30 facilities)) in the Ottawa- Carleton region, conducted by Aminzadeh, Dalziel, Martell & Amos (September, 2001).
History within these walls: a historical geography of Sadleir House Peterborough, Ontario
The purpose of this research was to provide a complete history of Sadleir House. Sadleir House is located at 751 George Street North in the City of Peterborough, Ontario. In addition to researching the present and former owners, the geographical impacts these individuals or groups had on the Peterborough community were also examined.

In this paper, we present the gaps and the challenges faced by literacy programs, services and organizations in Peterborough. This research found that the lack of funding for literacy services was a major gap faced by the majority of the participants.
