Donald Grant Fowlds was born on July 22, 1891. He was a bank manager living in Saskatchewan at the time of his enlistment in May 1916. He served mostly in France as a Trooper with the Fort Garry Horse. He was killed in action at the age of 27 on October 9, 1918. No photo of Don has been identified.

Eric Sutherland Fowlds was born on June 9, 1893. He was a civil engineer with the Second Field Company Canadian Engineers between 1909 and 1911. Following the outbreak of World War I, Eric enlisted in September 1914 and again served with the Canadian Engineers in England and France. He returned to Canada after the war and later lived and worked in Mexico.
