1916 Letter 12
Dear Mother –
When our car is broken and when we chance a ride to town we usually alight at Piccadilly Circus. This is a typical scene – the place is infested with boot blacks as you see – will try to write more in a day or so. We are awfully busy and as the plaque of locusts is still with us it is impossible to write at night. The weather is better now, hot in the middle of the day but delightful after 3 pm.
One of our new officers named Ramsey knew Dan in [Pilly].
I am feeling fine. Heaps of love.
Helen.
