That
your memorialists feel that the manner in which the Hon. John
Beverley Robinson has discharged the duties of the high office
of Lieutenant Governor of the Province of Ontario. That this
Town and the section surrounding it owes him [an] especial
debt of gratitude for his great and valuable aid given towards
perpetuating the historical reminiscences of the seventeenth
century with which the Town is connected. That your memorialists
have also noticed his readiness to give the same generous
aid and the assistance of his position towards all other parts
of this Province to all projects of a National Character or
for the good and welfare of the Public:
Your
memorialists feel that the reappointment of his Honor would
be a gracious act and most acceptable to the Province at large.
Your
memorialists therefore humbly add their prayer to that of
the more important bodies who have addressed your Excellency
on the subject that your Excellency may see fit to re-appoint
the Hon. John Beverley Robinson as Lieutenant Governor of
this Province.
