Green enterprises in Peterborough County
From an environmental perspective, the essential importance of community economic development is its ability to move communities toward self-reliance. That, in turn, will result in much more efficient use of local natural and secondary resources as people connect with their surrounding environmental and understand the importance of persevering local resources for he needs of future generations within their own community. Though formulations of the sustainable community economic development (SCED) concept vary, most include environmental sustainability as a central component. Green enterprise is able to integrate this aspect of SCED into both its processes and the products it generates. Green Enterprise can play an educational role, providing an example of environmental responsibility and showing that this responsibility can support successful business. It can also provide the community with increase choice about the types of goods and services it consumes, increasing local empowerment., Introduction -- Revised study plan.
